Hi, I’m Tony Fayyazi.
I was born in Tehran. Then I got out. Fast.
I came to the U.S. as a 17-year-old with $2,000, a suitcase, and a dream that barely fit in overhead storage. After decades of dodging immigration, arranged marriage, parenting chaos, and teaching wild kids in American classrooms — I discovered my secret weapon: humor.
I’ve survived marriage, divorce, a short stay in jail (long story, happy ending), and now I live in Thailand where I teach, write, and make people laugh about things they usually cry about.
Laughapy (Laugh+Therapy) is my way of offering laughter as medicine —
no side effects, no insurance required.
When I’m not writing or teaching, I’m probably playing tennis like I’m competing at Wimbledon… or burning Persian food while pretending I’m on a cooking show.
